Pai Gow Poker Rules

Bonus Pai Gow Poker is a poker88 game at casinos where they introduce poker with the Chinese take on jai Gow (sometimes called Chinese poker or Fan Gow). This is a version of poker that is played with one 52 card deck instead of the traditional five. It is simpler than the other version, and much easier to learn.

To learn and be able to play bonus Pai Gow poker, you should first learn the Pai GowGlossary.

Pai Gow rules: The game begins with the dealing of the table and the placement of the Crimson Cash Game marker on the number 5th card. Five cards are then dealt to the player from the dealer.

During the game, you must make a wager. The dealer deals another card to the player after each round. The final card is dealt face down and it is known as the player’s last card. The player then uses his two remaining cards and his knowledge of the number 5 to create his or her five card poker hand.

The five card hand’s value is determined by adding the seven of clubs, Ace of spades, and King of hearts to the player’s five card hand. A hand can be as high as yours if there were no pairs. If there are two of the same number or face card, siceceed to split the card.

The game ends when the dealer ties with the player. If the player has lost his last hand, he loses his bet. If the player has won his last hand, he wins even money on his last hand (including previous hand’s ante), otherwise he loses his ante.

The winner is the player with the highest hand. If there is a tie, the players that tied heads-up lose their bets.

Strategy

The strategy to beat pai gow poker is as simple as it can get. Do not card count, do not memorize the cards. You must observe the cards dealt and name the rank of the card. You also need to learn the correlation between the values of the cards and the strength of your hand.

For example, a pair of threes is not the most valuable card in the deck, but it is very strong. If you have two of the same number, you may still beat the dealer’s hand, even if dependent on another card of the same rank as the dealer’s. In fact, the odds are exactly the same.

What hands to look for

There are a total of 52 cards in all, 52 cards in the deck, 13 cards in each of the three suites. Suits have no meaning in card counting. They are only used to determine who has won a hand, not to keep track of how many hands each player has won.

The key to beating pai gow poker is determining what hands beat the dealer. You need to know the weaknesses of the cards, and then determine the possible hands the dealer may have, and then bet appropriately.

For example, if the dealer’s highest card (card that makes up the dealer’s total) is seven or higher, you should generally accept the banker as having a better hand than the player. Since there are more eights in the deck, there are more sevens to be dealt. That means there will be more hands with between four and six cards (a soft hand).

More cards in the deck mean a stronger hand. The opposite is also true. If more cards are in the deck, there are more tens, aubs, and raes in the deck. That means there will be more hands with between four and six cards (hard hands).

Play soft and hard hands equally, meaning that if you have a six and a five, you should also play a soft hand, meaning you should always split sixes and aces. This doesn’t hold true if you have other pairs in your hand.

Another fact to remember is that there are more tens in the deck with an ace and a ten than with any other card. This is because a ten is a strong card and the ace and the ten are the cards with the highest number.

However, some combinations are more likely to hold up. You may be dealt a pair of aces, if you have an ace as a VIP. If you have an ace as a dealer, you may have to hit until you manage to get two aces.

Hot to hit or stay hot

The dealer is required to hit to keep the hot dealer hand. If you beat the dealer, you could lose the hot hand, and the hot dealer hand. When you decide to hit, you should aim to get as close to 21 as possible, and stand on soft 17 or above (21 is the best hand).

The best strategy hit that you can make is to complete a flush to beat the dealer.
