Pete Eyre to leave Bureaucrash; Join Fr33 Agents

eyre1This morning Pete Eyre announced that he would be stepping down as the “Crasher-In-Chief” of the Bureaucrash Activist Network. Instead, at least until a new head is found, Bureaucrash will be run by a four-person committee made up of employees at the Competitive Enterprise Institute. No, this is not an April Fools Day joke. Pete writes:

I’m not sure what the future has in store for [Bureaucrash] but I’ll be moving forward with the projects outlined below. It’s fitting, as I’ve encouraged you to take risks, stand on your principles, and be entrepreneurial while engaging others in the battle of ideas.

One of the projects that he will be joining is Fr33 Agents so their loss is our tremendous gain. Because of the added capacity that Pete brings, we will be announcing some major new initiatives over the next month. I spoke to Pete about his decision and more information will be forthcoming, perhaps in his first post here.

Pete replaced me over a year ago at Bureaucrash and as far as I was concerned, he was the best choice since it demands an uncompromising, principled activist at it’s head.

Pete and I have invested a lot of time and energy into Bureaucrash so we wish them the best of luck and will be monitoring their future developments closely.

Thrive on chaos. Nothing motivates me more than a change of scenery.

Great get for the site. Jason knows I've never been Bureaucrash's biggest fan, and I'm sure I'll spar – intellectually, for my sake – with Pete from time to time here, but by all accounts he's a top-notch guy who cares deeply about liberty. Libertarianism is lucky to have him, as are we. Welcome, Pete!
