Reason.TV Hits the Mainstream

Drew CareyAnd no, we’re not talking about Nick Gillespie’s frequent appearances on Fox News at 3AM. The folks at Reason continue to cut the edge in their effort to spread libertarian ideas to the masses and recently revealed a major coup. The success of the Drew Carey project on Reason.TV has led to an upcoming special with John Stossell named Bull—- in America. From Reason:

On March 13, look for Drew to appear with John Stossel on ABC News’ 20/20 in the special Bull—- in America. The program, which looks at medical marijuana, eminent-domain abuse, nanny state laws, and other topics, is inspired by Reason.tv segments.

Their original claim to fame was the Drew Carey project. This gave Reason, and the broader libertarian movement, star power to reach new audiences. Over time, the rest of the Reason staff stepped in front of the camera. Lead by Nick Gillespie, the crew has discussed the DC gun case, the media, Ron Paul in verse and they event have their own talk show.

Additionally, when many groups were slow to get started, both Reason Magazine and TV took the lead to provide a platform for leading voices to speak out against the recent nationalization of the financial industry.

They recently celebrated their 40th anniversary. The Reason team has much to be proud of since their start as a more-or-less monthly mimeograph in 1968.
